Introducing the ASS14

On 05/08/2015, Don Nguyen (AMGesus) and TJ Morales (Filipino Uncle) became angel investors of the James Racing ASS14, a project car meant to destroy and humiliate Curtis's (Cuntis) AE86.

The '95 Nissan 240SX (S14) was a familiar car for AMGesus and James Chounuts. It was AMGesus's high school car 16 years ago, and later turned into a wannabe drift/auto-x car, then a wannabe track car before it was sold to James Chounuts 7 years later. The engine makes a measly 155hp and peak torque is 160ft/lbs in a 2760+ lbs chassis. But hey, it's rear wheel drive so it's worth it.

Much like the car that AMGesus had 16 years ago, this new project car shared the same color paint, coilovers, and sideskirt style (Yashio Factory.) Was this a sign from the Nissan Gods to resurrect AMGesus's car from high school??? At the time of purchase, the S14 had about 80k miles on the odometer, but the car itself looked like it was owned by a blind man for 80 years.

Items on the ASS14:

  •  KTS 8k/6k coilovers
  • 5zigen FN-01RCs (every lame 240SX owner's choice of wheel back in the early 2000s)
  •  A very loud clutch fan that is always on
  • A subwoofer for filipino uncle to use to lure underage filipino girls into the trunk

In spirit of the clutch fan that always seems to be on, the car was nicknamed the "Purple Typhoon." After some driving we noticed the car was a bigger piece of shit than expected. The brakes were soft, the clutch was soft, the bushings needed to be replaced, the list goes on. It was determined that the bare minimum needed in order to defeat Cuntis at a trackday, we would have needed:

  • new brake pads
  • grippy tires
  • wider wheels
  • some kind of LSD (VLSD, HLSD, or clutch LSD)

It was going to be tough, but with the financial backing of AMGesus, the tuning abilities of Filipino Uncle, and the driving ability of James Chounuts, we would be able to crush the Cuntis AE86. The location of this epic battle will be Thunderhill West on September 19th, 2015. Stay tuned!
